(Transcend), a worldwide leader in storage and multimedia products, today announced a new high capacity 16GB Industrial Grade SDHC Class 10 card, and an SLC Flash upgrade for its “Ultimate” SDHC150 SDHC Class 10 cards. Compared to standard SDHC cards, industrial SDHC cards provide higher durability, wide operating temperatures and optimized R/W performance for industrial applications that are often exposed to extreme operating environments.

The newly released Industrial SDHC Class 10 cards are now available in 16GB capacity, allowing data-intensive industrial systems to benefit from the increased durability and performance of industrial grade storage. Offering excellent temperature flexibility from -40°C to 85°C, shock and vibration resistance, and low power consumption, Transcend’s Industrial Grade SDHC cards are suitable for use in industry-standard SD equipped devices, such as handheld bar code readers, POS terminals, in-vehicle advertising and entertainment, medical computing, set-top boxes, surveillance systems, portable vehicle navigation systems, and more.

Transcend’s “Ultimate” SDHC150 SDHC Class 10 cards are now manufactured using brand-name 32nm SLC NAND Flash chips for enhanced performance, extra long life, and sustained stability. The SLC equipped SDHC cards support high write/erase cycle endurance and meet the small form-factor requirements of high-resolution digital recording devices such as automotive DVRs, surveillance systems and high-end digital cameras that require stable operation under demanding conditions.


For extra reassurance, Transcend’s Industrial SDHC cards undergo extensive reliability testing and feature built-in Error Correction Code (ECC) that monitors the data transferred in and out of memory and corrects any errors found. The Industrial Temperature SDHC Class 10 cards and “Ultimate” SDHC150 SDHC Class 10 cards feature the top-of-the-line Class 10 speed rating, which guarantees a minimum read/write speed of 10MB/s while maintaining the highest level of stability and are available now in 4GB, 8GB, and 16GB capacities.
