What are the differences between industrial and consumer CompactFlash (CF) cards?

Category : Specification / Capacity / Performance

There are three main differences between industrial and consumer CF cards:

1.Disk mode:

Consumer CF cards can only be used as removable disks, while industrial CF cards can be used as fixed disks.

2.Operating temperature:

Industrial CF cards: -40°C to 85°C.
Consumer CF cards: -25°C to 85°C.

3.Flash types:

Industrial CF cards typically use Single Level Cell (SLC) flash memory.

Consumer CF cards generally use Multi-Level Cell (MLC) flash memory.

Due to the SLC technology, industrial CF cards offer greater stability and durability compared to consumer CF cards.
